I will be buying a new GFX card in the next week or so. I'm pretty sure a want an 8800GT. Whats the best deal i can get on one, that is still made by a quality company?

Nice, I'd suggest you go for the 8800GTS if budget allows.

Hmm, an extra $50~ shouldn't be a problem. I thought the 8800GT was better though?

The only difference i see is the GT has 112 Stream processes compared to the GTS's 128. And the GT has a slightly higher memory clock.

The GTS is always better, GTX even better, how much extra do you have? I saw a 9800GTX further down for a little more , which I will probably get later on .

I don't think the $50 for that GTS is going to make much difference. I have an 8800GT and couldn't be happier.

Only $130 after mailin rebate.

The only real difference I have seen between the GT, GTS, and GTX are the performance under high load. I used to have the 8600GT for Crysis but it just didn't feel right, then I upgraded to the GTS for a few bucks and it hit the spot.

Well, I play Crysis at 1680x1050 highest settings for XP with no problems with my 8800gt. My laptop had a mobile 8600GT and it was pretty crappy.

I will be running games at 1280x1024. I also have dual screens, if that makes a difference.

All that means is you will have even more fun : any line of the cards listed above will get the job done it's just amazing how the prices for these cards has dropped so much but they are still pretty powerful.
