Must be something on your pc since everything is fine here.
Maybe you have to remove your cookies.
(kinda sounds like your using IE btw)

Nothing wrong on my end, I use Firefox
All other vbulletin forums work fine it's just this site. Started happening when the forums first went up. Since then I have used multiple PCs, browsers, etc. all the same. Sometimes things are fine but sometimes they are not login times vary sometimes I am only logged in for a minute even though I am active in the forums.

If I visit another vbulletin forum I am still logged into that forum so it is isolated to the Sir. Community forums.

I've been logged in for the better part of a month now.

The only difference between your suggested settings and ours was that ".sircommunity.com" was set as the domain. I made it blank, see if that helps.

Using www.sircommunity.com and sircommunity.com will cause cookies to not match.

Settle for sircommunity.com.

That still does not rule out your Cookie being bad, its like real Cookies, you buy a big pack of them then a few are going to be mal formed, the vbb bakery is no different. Generally changing a persons usergroup is the easiest way to mess up a Cookie although not a gauranteed method, something to do with vbb's attempt at being secure so you cant simply steal someones cookie and become logged in as them.
However i would say that the timeout does seem to be short.

Besides which you know full well you should rule out the user before playing with the system

I've not had to re-login since the sites launch. Well, minus the times I reformatted, obviously I had to login then...

Now less Wotty!
