Hello Sir.Community

I have a problem with the battledirector and BF2142

I want to capture a scene with 1600x1200/100FPS
but BF just close after File Sie 4 GB is reached

I dont know if there exist a sizelimit in one of the phyton files in
BattleDirector\data

So, is it possible to fix the problem

4GB is generally the limit for avi files, it is possible to make larger avi files but its not really worth it. 4GB is also the file size limit on 32 bit file systems.
BF2/2142 produce the video files and you cant alter the method they use to produce them so you are stuck with the limit - as far as I know.

The problem is 4gb is really small for videoediting.

For example
1920x1080 200fps is 23.1743 GB as uncompressed video file

I try to create a File Splitter Methode while capturing

BF2/2142 are only designed to provide a visual insight into the state of the game from a certain point of view, the miracle is that they let us record it at all as its unlikely any BF game will in the future - beyond screen capture.

Way to bump! ¬_¬
Do you really need 200FPS?

Sure! And i can now capture bf2142 scenes with high fps for real slow-mo and fine motion blur. e.g http://alturl.com/44x6e

to explain the solution:
use ffdshow to grab the images from battlefield

use ffdshow tryout rev3154 with the losless jpeg codec and capture the images as ogm file external :)

Wow, looks pretty complicated to learn.

I just use Lagarith and be done with it.

Nothing beats FFDshow for playback mind you, and in combination with avisynth, there's some incredible scripts out there to waste use extra CPU cycles on.

A particular favourite of mine is doubling the frame interpolation so you can have that fancy "motion plus" technology from your Samsung TV (and others), but I digress.

Good luck with the film! :yay:

You can make a new thread :)

In BF2/2142 we would use a bfr file and then use Battledirector to record the cam track and then render the video.
Then it is generally a case of Vegas and talent to produce the videos we are known for.
In BF3 you have to deal with capture first and there isnt a good answer for that.
Editing is a question of learning it and being happy to get it wrong, like I do. The editing program helps you edit, it doesnt make you good at editing.

Try, fail and then retry - you can only get better and the world wont end if you try to do something and someone doesnt like it.

I am not good enough at it, hopefully Xalias will pass by and dump half an internet of useful links.
http://www.videocopilot.net <- they have interesting stuff that is way over my head but you can loose half a life on that site without getting bored.
