router and access point

I have a netgear WG602 access point and a linksys routee BEFSR41 V3. Most of the computers are on hard lines and the internet works great. THe problem is when i try to access the network via the WG602. It has a solid connection to the access point but internet is dodgy on it. It times out frequently when loading web pages and downloads at real slow speeds. I turned off the DHCP serve] on the access point but no luck there. Ahy help guys?

What kindof cable are you using to connect the access point to the router?

Watch the status lights on your router that are for that port, it should always be blinking green when you're doing anything with the access point.

edit: also, in the settings area for your access point, be sure to have DHCP, NAT, PAT, and any sort of IP addressing off. You want it to act like a switch, not a router; if that helps.
